It’s the latest wind powered thrill in the UK and now wingsurfing is available at both our beach clubs in Greece.
Less complicated than kitesurfing and less kit to rig than windsurfing, it’s the easiest wind sport to get to grips with, particularly with the breezy cross-off shore winds that blow during the summer in Greece.
Our two fantastic beach clubs – Lixouri Bay in Kefalonia, and Stira Bay in Evia both offer wingsurfing.

Where can I try Wingsurfing?
Wingsurfing is an inclusive activity at our Lixouri Bay beach club in Kefalonia, Stira Bay beach club in Evia and our Villa Club holidays.
I’ve not heard of Wingsurfing
Nor had we not so long ago… Originally developed in the mid ’80s but now having a rebirth, many of the keenest watersports enthusiasts haven’t tried it yet either. Combining elements of kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing, you angle the ‘wing’ to pick up the wind and propel you along.
The wing is shaped similar to a bird’s wing and being inflatable (like a kitesurf kite) means it’s super lightweight to hold up. Under your feet, you can have any board you fancy, though in stronger conditions something with a dagger board is preferable. For the ultimate wing ride, hop on a foil board, hold your wing aloft and then you’ll really be flying along!!

Is it easy ?
Any competent windsurfer will find Wingsurfing pretty simple to get into. All you need is a good grasp of how the wind works and you’ll be whizzing along in no time. With our fantastic inflatable sups providing an easy and stable board to learn on
Our fantastic RYA qualified beach team will get you rigged up and ready to wing as well as providing a safety boat patrol across our 1km square sailing area.

New to water sports?
Wingsurfing is possibly one of the easiest watersports to learn. You don’t have to worry about keeping your balance as you haul a sail out the water or anything like that. You can enjoy a learn-to-wing session with our fantastic team and learn all the basics to get you up and riding.

You start from a kneeling position on the board as you learn to basics of controlling the wing. You then progress to a standing position. The wing flies easily with a good breeze, but if it all gets a bit too much, it depowers very quickly.
Starting out one of our sup boards means you can have ago in the sandy shallows at the beach club and gently cruise up and down the beach. As you get more confident, you can upgrade your board and head further into the sailing area.

Kit list
A range of RRD Boards ranging from 75l-140l, with a selection of different mast and foil sizes and designs to suit novice wingers and experts. There is a wide range of RRD Wing sizes from 2.0-5.0m.
